Historically,
TOPMODEL (France) became known as a pioneer in 3D flight. Today this
reputation is further enhanced with the launch of the world's first
production model 3D sailplane.
The Kulbutin is a sailplane for the more experienced
modeler who is looking
for something different or, perhaps a new challenge. Looking at this plane you will know it is unlike any other
sailplane. Its generous side
area and large rudder allow for unbelievable knife-edge flight. An exclusive new mechanism provides incredible elevator control by
allowing the full flying stabilizer to rotate through almost 180° (see
picture below). These extreme control throws allow aerobatic maneuvers never
before possible with any sailplane. We
strongly recommend the use of dual rates. New figures are now possible such as the “Kulbuto” Plunge or
the "Parkinson” Loop (see drawings below). This sailplane is so capable of wild
maneuvers, you will soon be
inventing you own. Due to its
light wing loading, the KULBUTIN can also fly in very light wind
conditions, a rare characteristic for an aerobatic sailplane. Designed essentially for slope soaring where you can obtain long
duration 3D flights, the Kulbutin can also be aero towed to enjoy 3D
flying at your favorite sod farm or thermal field. With the
Kulbutin, sailplane enthusiasts are finally able to enjoy
the thrills of 3D flying. This
is a very complete kit that goes together quickly. A fully illustrated manual will ensure an enjoyable assembly
experience. All components
are pre-finished and are of top quality. A large decal sheet will allow you to dress up your model to look
just like the one pictured here. The
Kulbutin is a super fun model for the third millennium that breaks down so
you can take it everywhere!
