The SB-9 is a glider developed in 1969 by a group of students and teachers of The Brunswick Academic Flying Group. This was a high performance glider that at the time of its first flight in January 1969, had probably the greatest span of any glider then flying. It was also a study project for composite construction and of high aspect ratio wings. They competed with it between 1969 and 1971.

We offer here a 1:5 semi-scale reproduction of the 22m glider in an all moulded construction, and comes highly prefabricated. It can be flown from a winch, converted to electric, or aero-towed, It will also excel on a slope. The airfoil leads to a nice glide path with nice acceleration for aerobatics. It has a great thermal capabilities with great handling and smooth behaviour. Add some click camber and it becomes very gentle for some nice thermal flying.

The kit comes completely finished. The wings are hollow moulded, ailerons and flaps are live hinged, and airbrakes are fitted.
Construction is glass/rohacell sandwich wing skin with a sturdy carbon D-box reinforcement for additional stiffness and bottom of wings are painted in blue for better visibility.
Fuselage is all glass with a high gloss finish. An optional retractable landing gear can be installed. The clear plastic canopy is fitted to the fiberglass tray, a moulded seat is completing the cockpit.
All what's required is your radio gear. You will need 4-6 high torque mini servos for the wings, 2-3 standard servos for the tail and landing gear, and a regular receiver.

SB-9 (4.5 m) all moulded ARF kit, Carbon D-box wing, blue bottom, with flaps, airbrakes
